Personalized Fitting

How does hearing aid fitting work?

Far more than simply choosing a device: a personalized journey to rediscover sound with clarity and comfort.

At AudioClick, we understand that successful hearing aid adaptation does not happen in a single visit. It is a gradual, individualized process guided by an experienced audiologist, encompassing clinical evaluation, selecting the ideal technology, real-world trials, progressive acoustic adjustments, and ongoing auditory monitoring.

Our goal is not simply to amplify sounds, but to deliver enhanced speech clarity, auditory comfort, and better comprehension across all everyday social and professional environments.

Stages of hearing aid fitting

Explore each phase of our clinical care at AudioClick, designed for a safe, comfortable, and highly effective hearing experience.

1 Comprehensive audiological evaluation

Before recommending any hearing device, we perform a detailed clinical evaluation, which includes:

  • Pure-tone audiometry: identifies auditory thresholds across frequencies, establishing the degree, configuration, and type of hearing loss.
  • Speech audiometry: evaluates word recognition and speech comprehension. This exam is fundamental to predict functional benefit and assist in choosing the appropriate technological tier for your communication needs.
  • Immittance testing (tympanometry): analyzes middle ear functional conditions and evaluates acoustic reflexes, providing critical diagnostic information on auditory pathway integrity.

These objective exams, paired with a thorough discussion of your communication challenges, work environments, and lifestyle needs, enable us to prescribe the optimal solution for you.

2 Personalized hearing aid selection

No two hearing aids are identical, just as no two hearing losses require the same acoustic processing.

Selection takes into account audiometric thresholds, speech-in-noise understanding, listening environments, daily habits, dexterity, and cosmetic preferences.

At AudioClick, we work with premier international manufacturers, allowing truly personalized recommendations without locking you into a single brand.

3 Home trial: experiencing real-life sounds

After initial computer programming, you take the hearing aids home for a trial period of several days.

During this time, you experience the devices in everyday situations—family conversations, television, restaurants, workplace meetings, and outdoor walks.

Upon returning to our clinic, we review your notes, listening challenges, and feedback, fine-tuning parameters as needed.

This step ensures absolute confidence and peace of mind in your technological choice.

4 Real-Ear Measurement (REM) & Speech Mapping

Adaptation must never rely solely on subjective impressions. We employ gold-standard verification technology to objectively ensure true amplification benefit.

  • Insertion Gain / REM: using a miniature probe tube placed close to the eardrum, we measure the precise sound pressure difference with and without the hearing aid in place. This verifies the actual gain delivered across specific frequencies, taking into account the unique acoustic resonance of your individual ear canal.
  • Live Speech Mapping: an objective probe-microphone measurement that visually displays how the hearing aids are amplifying conversational speech in real time inside your ear.

With this technology, we confirm that soft sounds are audible, average speech is intelligible, and loud sounds remain safe and comfortable.

Speech mapping enables micro-adjustments tailored to your unique anatomical ear canal geometry and audiological prescription targets (such as NAL-NL2 or DSL v5).

At AudioClick, merely making sound louder is not enough. Our mission is to provide accurate, balanced, and comfortable amplification that restores clear, effortless communication.

5 Auditory adaptation and progressive adjustments

The brain requires time to re-learn how to process acoustic nuances that may have been missing for years.

During the first year, regular follow-up visits (typically every 3 months) allow us to fine-tune noise reduction algorithms, directional microphones, and frequency responses as your auditory cortex adapts.

6 Long-term monitoring after year one

Hearing can evolve over time. After the first year, annual audiological check-ups and acoustic recalibrations ensure your devices continue to perform at peak efficiency.

Ongoing clinical care is just as essential as choosing the right device initially.

7 Warranty and technical support

All hearing aids carry manufacturer warranties covering technical defects according to terms established at purchase.

Our team provides regular preventive cleaning, dehumidification, minor maintenance, and factory service coordination whenever needed.

We also guide patients on daily care, battery and charging maintenance, and hygiene to protect your investment for years to come.

Our Commitment

Our difference: continuous, compassionate hearing care

At AudioClick, we believe that hearing success depends not just on advanced microchips, but on diagnostic excellence, precision acoustic verification, and dedicated long-term professional guidance.

Hearing aids are vital gateways to sound. However, speech understanding ultimately relies on central auditory processing and neural integration.

We do not merely dispense hearing aids. We accompany each individual on a journey of rediscovering sound, communication, and quality of life.

AudioClick: technology, science, and specialized human care for you to hear your best.
